Hey fellow tool junkies, my not so trusty Black and Decker 7.2 volt cordless hand drill is in need of a battery replacement as it really barely holds the charge anymore. I think I will just replace it with something cooler. Any suggestions? I use it solely for repairs and string winding. It gets alot of daily use. I need something relatively light weight as well. I also need it to be fairly powerful. I would say above the 7.2 model that I have.

It's not a drill, but I just last week bought a Bosch 10.8V Litheon™ Pocket Driver, which is a pretty nice little device. It's only for driving screws, and is very lightweight and small. It uses Lithium-ion batteries, and they seem to last a good long while before needing charging. My only gripe is that it has only one speed. It takes standard drill-driver screwdriver bits.
My old DeWalt chordless drill is still useable for drilling, and this little thing gives me enough power for driving screws on any workbench type work.

Like Hesh, I really like the Festool drills, but I have a hard time personally justifying their cost. I nearly bought one, but I felt it just wasn't perfect enough for the cost.

Hesh that is awesome!!! I think I want it. My only concern is most of my repairs take slightly more than 1 million screws!
Don its funny I was looking at the Bosch online last night.
It looks really cool particularly for my purposes. I have to smirk though if I replace my "crappy" Black and Decker with something with the word "stool" in it.

I picked up the Bosch cordless about a year ago. It was on sale at Lowes. The price was right and it fit my hand better than the others. I don't have small hands. I can reach an octave and a note if I stretch. The store also had a rebate offer of another battery, so I have three. It doesn't make me coffee in the morning, but it does everything I have ever asked of it. Its not too heavy, so I can work over my head with minimal discomfort, abused rotator cuffs. If it were to die today I would get another one.

Thanks Lilian, is that the same one Don and I were looking at? I have a persistent shoulder problem so I always use a drill to wind strings.

I think I figured it out Hesh, Fe is the chemical symbol for Iron and stool is just plain..... well we all know what stool is so I am thinking it is loosely translated to either Iron crap or of course Crap of Iron.

I think I may go for the Bosch 9.6 for light weight and great reviews. The Porter Cable also looks good.
But the Festool is so cool.
